Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the website at ohiovalleyradonmitigation.com (the “Site”) operated by Ohio Valley Radon Mitigation (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read them carefully before using the Site.

Read this first: Ohio Valley Radon Mitigation is an independent referral and matching service only. We are not a radon testing or mitigation contractor, we do not perform any testing or mitigation work, and we do not employ the contractors we refer. All testing and mitigation services are provided by independent, separately licensed contractors, who are solely responsible for their own work, pricing, warranties, licensing, and results.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Site, submitting a request through it, or asking to be matched with a contractor, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms for them.

2. What our service is

We operate a referral and matching service. When you contact us, we connect you with one or more independent radon contractors who serve your area — Ohio contractors licensed by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Kentucky contractors credentialed under the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP). Our role ends once we make that introduction. You can read more about the process on our How It Works page.

We are paid by the contractor network, not by homeowners. Being matched with a contractor does not create any obligation for you to hire that contractor, and it does not create a contract between you and us for any testing or mitigation work.

3. No contractor guarantee

We do not guarantee any contractor’s availability, pricing, workmanship, timelines, licensing status, or the outcome of any testing or mitigation. We do not supervise, direct, or control the contractors, and we are not a party to any agreement you enter with them. Any estimate, quote, warranty, or promise comes from the contractor directly — not from us.

Before hiring anyone, you should verify the contractor’s current license or credential, request written quotes, and get your own written contract. You are free to seek quotes from other contractors and to decline any referral we provide.

4. No professional, medical, or legal advice

The content on the Site is general information about radon, testing, and mitigation. It is not professional, medical, or legal advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for a licensed professional’s judgment about your specific home or health. Radon measurements and health decisions depend on your particular property and circumstances. For questions about your health, consult a qualified medical provider; for questions about your home, consult a licensed radon professional.

5. Homeowner responsibilities

When you use the Site and work with a contractor we refer, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about your home and contact details.
  • Verifying that a contractor holds a current, valid Ohio ODH license or Kentucky NRPP credential before hiring.
  • Reviewing the contractor’s quote, contract, warranty, and scope of work directly with them, and asking questions before you sign.
  • Making your own decision about whether to test, mitigate, or hire any particular contractor.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Ohio Valley Radon Mitigation is not liable for the acts or omissions of any contractor, for the testing or mitigation work performed, or for any dispute between you and a contractor. We are not responsible for property damage, personal injury, cost, delay, or any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from work performed by a contractor or from your use of the Site.

The Site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Because our service is a free referral to you, any liability we might have relating to the Site or a referral is limited to the amount you paid us, which is zero.

7. Intellectual property

The Site’s text, layout, graphics, logo, and other content are owned by or licensed to Ohio Valley Radon Mitigation and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, or reuse the Site’s content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

8. Third-party links

The Site links to third-party resources — such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Ohio Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — for reference and general education. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. A link is not an endorsement.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.

11. Contact
