Referral service
How Ohio Valley Radon Mitigation Works
We are an independent referral service — not a radon contractor. We connect Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky homeowners with Ohio ODH-licensed radon contractors, then step out of the way.
We never test or mitigate a home ourselves. Our job is the match: you tell us about your home, and we hand you off to a licensed pro who covers your county. That contractor gives you the quote and does the work.
The short version: you talk to us once, we introduce you to a licensed radon contractor near you, and everything after that — testing, the quote, the mitigation system — happens directly between you and that contractor. The match costs you $0.
Start to finish
Three steps, and the contractor takes it from there
Most homeowners are through step one in a couple of minutes. Here is what each step looks like.
-
Tell us about your home
Share your zip code, foundation type, any prior radon test result, and your timeline. Use the form or one short phone call — whichever you like.
-
We match you locally
We connect you with an Ohio ODH-licensed radon contractor who covers your county and has a current license. One introduction, matched to your area.
-
The licensed contractor handles it
That contractor gives you a free quote and performs all testing and mitigation. You deal with them directly from that point on — never with us.
Our role
What we do
- Ask a few questions about your home and your radon situation.
- Match you with a licensed contractor who works in your county.
- Pass your request along so the contractor can reach out quickly.
- Point you to plain answers on radon testing, how mitigation works, and what a system typically costs.
Where we stop
What we don’t do
- We never test your home or install a mitigation system. Licensed contractors do that work.
- We don’t take payment from you. The contractor network compensates us, so the match stays free for homeowners.
- We don’t set your price or sign your contract — that’s between you and the contractor.
- We don’t sell your information. Your details go to the matched contractor so they can quote your job.
Our standard
How we choose the contractors we match you with
Ohio requires a license to test for or mitigate radon, and that license is the floor, not a nice-to-have. Here is what we look for before we send anyone a homeowner.
- A current Ohio ODH license. The contractor holds an active radon license from the Ohio Department of Health for the work they do.
- Coverage for your county. We match you with someone who actually works your area, on both sides of the river — Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
- Responsiveness. We favor contractors who follow up quickly, since a slow callback is the most common complaint homeowners have and real-estate deadlines don’t wait.
If a contractor stops meeting that bar, we stop sending them homeowners. You can also check any Ohio radon license yourself through the Ohio Department of Health.
What the match costs
Free for the homeowner
Getting matched costs you nothing. There is no fee to use us and no charge for the introduction.
The contractor network compensates us, not you. That’s how a referral service stays free for homeowners while the licensed contractor still gets paid for the actual work.
The only money you spend is what you agree to pay the contractor for testing or a mitigation system — a number they quote you directly. Most Greater Cincinnati systems land in a predictable range; our cost guide walks through what drives the price.
Before you reach out
What to have ready
None of this is required, but having it handy means the contractor can quote your home faster and with fewer follow-up questions.
- Your zip code. It tells us which licensed contractor covers your area.
- Your foundation type. Basement, crawl space, slab, or a mix — it shapes the system and the quote.
- Any prior test result. If you’ve tested, the reading in pCi/L helps the contractor plan. If you haven’t, that’s fine — they can test first.
- Your timeline. Just curious, planning ahead, or racing a real-estate inspection deadline? Tell us so it can be prioritized.
